- The objective is to have more efficient facilities in terms of water resources and guarantee the sustainability of sports.
- The project includes a 15% reduction in water consumption and allows you to be more prepared in a drought situation.
Grupo Dir has launched a series of measures to optimize the use of water in gyms with the purpose of offering more sustainable infrastructure that ensures the waste of water resources. An initiative that shows, once again, DIR’s commitment to the protection of the planet.
These measures are based on the automation of the leaks of the pools and thermal spaces, as well as the use of a new purifying material such as glass. Glass is a non -porous element that increases its permeability in washing while respecting the environment more vehemently.
Thanks to the implementation of these reforms, DIR will reduce both the volume of liters and the time used during cleaning the water areas. It will also allow prolonging the need to purify filters, eliminate a possible human error during the process and identify any incidence more quickly.
The forecast is to get a 15%water saving a year, although the value can be folded. Dir wants to have a more dynamic operation in the face of a possible future drought situation such as the one that was already lived last summer and continue betting on physical activity with quality care and without interruptions.
Within the framework of the ‘Barcelona Awards program with sustainable sports’ designed by the Barcelona City Council through the Barcelona Sports Institute (IBE), DIR can boost these changes with greater agility by consolidating an innovative sports system and committed to the resources that Nature offers us.
